Cities Consortium runs a public awareness campaign on sustainable waste management. It is also researching and developing innovative urban management strategies which seek to maximize collection and reduce on the waste going to landfills by focusing on sorting, re-using, recycling and processing of waste into other products such as fertilizers, briquettes etc. and where quantity and quality permits; waste to energy.
